About Massage License in Hawaii
Overview of Massage License
Educational Requirements
Complete the required courses at a Hawaii state-accredited massage
school (a minimum of 570 hours of training is required). The curriculum
includes anatomy, physiology, pathology, massage theory, and practical training.
Exam Requirement
Pass the Hawaii State Massage License Examination (100 questions,
with at least 75 correct answers). The exam consists of multiple-choice questions, and there is no practical exam.
Other Requirements
Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older.
License Renewal Requirements
Renew every two years. When renewing, you must submit proof of
CPR certification and 10 hours of Continuing Education (CE).

Enroll in a Hawaii State Department of
Education-accredited massage school
The first step to becoming a massage therapist in Hawaii is to enroll in a massage
school accredited by the Hawaii State Department of Education (DOE).
At our school, you will gain solid knowledge and skills, along with
extensive hands-on clinical experience by providing massages as a trainee.

Pass the Hawaii State License
Examination
After completing the educational program,you will take the qualification exam.
The exam can be taken either at the testing center or online. It consists of
100 multiple-choice questions, and you need to answer at least 75
correctly to pass. There is no practical exam.

Once you obtain your license, you can officially work as a therapist within Hawaii.
